]]> The PAASCU Commission on Engineering, Computer Science and Technology Education (CECSTE) hosted a two-day workshop last August 14-15, 2014 at Hotel Benilde Maison de La Salle, Arellano Avenue corner Estrada St., Malate, Manila. The two-day workshop covered the following:
• The Launching of the Autodesk Project, a new initiative involving a partnership between Autodesk and PAASCU. Autodesk is a world leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software.
• A workshop on 鈥淎ligning PAASCU Institutions to 21^st Century Skills Using Learning Outcomes and Competencies鈥� conducted by members of the CECSTE. The workshop aims to guide institutions on how to adapt their existing curriculum and syllabi to learning outcomes and competencies.

Ms. Princess Arleen S. Zamora, Area Chairperson of Information Technology under the College of Accountancy, Business Administration and Computer Studies (CABACS), attended the event.

The Memorandum of Understanding between PAASCU and Autodesk was signed last September 23, 2014 and a training workshop was conducted for those who were responsible for the installation and activation of the software. The event was held at the Hotel Benilde Maison de La Salle, Malate, Manila.

The four-year partnership will offer access to the Autodesk education software to PAASCU member and candidate institutions. The following will be made available at no cost to the school:

• Latest version and two versions back (2014, 2010);
• 4-year term license, counting from activation date;
• 125 seats per serial per program;
• Network deployment;
• By default, one user can retrieve 1 serial for each product version in ARC; and
• Additional serials can be granted, if needed.

]]> The Recoletos Educational Apostolate of the Philippines (REAP), through its President, Rev. Fr. Julius M. Marcos, OAR, called for an action planning workshop for the formulation of a comprehensive province-wide K to 12 transition plan that would be applicable for all Recollect schools. This was held at the Talavera Retreat House, Cebu City last August 6-7, 2014. The resource persons invited to give inputs and updates on the K to 12 program were from the Department of Education (DepEd) and Dr. Brenda Corpuz, FAPE President.

In order to come up with a comprehensive transition work plan, both religious and lay administrators in-charged of the academics, finance, human resource, marketing and school facilities participated in the said planning. The 精东影业 College-Recoletos Manila delegates were Dr. Rodrigo F. Ponce, Jr., Director of Office of Accreditation, Planning and Development (OAPD) and the ETEEAP Center, Mrs. Sherlita C. Mendoza, Comptroller, Mrs. Mary Grace S. Poblete, Head of the Human Resource Development Center (HRDC), and Dr. Juliet Baltazar, Principal of the High School Department.

]]> In response to the invitation of the Catholic Radio Station, Radio Veritas to the 鈥淢arian and the Popes Exhibit鈥� at the SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, the OAPD staff together with other office personnel and the faculty members of the Institute of Religious Education and Philosophy (IREP), College of International Hospitality Management (CIHM) and College of Accountancy, Business Administration and Computer Studies (CABACS) visited the exhibit last September 24. The exhibit aims to showcase the relics and memorabilia of the Popes featuring the blood relic of Beloved St. Jon Paul II and the life-sized miraculous images of Blessed Virgin Mary.
